About

I am Christian Holbein, a data engineer and AI consultant based in Berlin. Under the name CHnet Solutions I have worked independently since 2018 at the intersection of data, systems and business logic – over a decade in the field, preceded by several years as a freelance ETL developer.

My focus is production-grade data pipelines: connecting new source systems (SAP, Oracle, MSSQL, REST, S3), replacing grown Talend pipelines with container-based jobs on ECS and Lambda, and building audit and monitoring frameworks that an operations team can genuinely take over. This increasingly overlaps with AI-driven automation – agent-based workflows on the Anthropic Claude API, MCP servers and custom skills that plug straight into existing engineering routines.

My primary language is TypeScript (AWS CDK, Lambda, tooling), Python for data and ETL scripts, and SQL day in, day out. The entire platform behind this site – including its vita chatbot – is implemented as infrastructure as code in AWS CDK.

My engagements typically run over several years, working as an integrated part of internal teams; I am currently in my fifth year supporting a data platform team at a German premium automotive manufacturer. There is no intermediary layer: the person you talk to is the person who writes the code.
